    I received my products after about 6 months of customs debaucle and the bizarre way in which mistergates pays for customs fees. I have finally managed to install the gate. I bought a whole system and a keypad that I was advised would work. Installed it all to now find out the keypad is not compatible with thr motor, the app motorisation + does. It allow others to control the gate and is extremely poor on help and usability is sketchy and for one of the remotes - the soldering within it was not attached. How is that even possible on a small circuit board. Also the motor design is good but allows for water ingress through the mechanism to release the motor gear. I bought this because it was recommended and be use of the functionality (but feel I was sold on sales talk and not reality of how the system works) I have have extreme difficulty of getting hold of anyone for either sales or customer service when compared to a year ago - which smacks of the company is not doing well and is understaffed possibly.

    My experience has overall been terrible from both Motostar and Mister Gates. I originally ordered Motostar gates 2 years ago. They broke. However, despite being in warranty, the customer service from Motostar has been so terrible (they ignore my emails most of the time, and take at least 4 weeks to respond) I have given up trying to get the original motors fixed. I have therefore been forced to buy a new set of motors (£600!). I did that with regret, but when the alternate is a complete reinstallation of the gates from a third party this is the least worst choice. These gates have just arrived but Mister Gates failed to pay the import duties, so I have been forced to pay a further £90 to have them released by the courier!

    The website is hard to navigate or understand what you are getting with the order. When you request help online You get spammed with messages in French but no answer. The gate and fence took forever to arrive, and we had to call to check on it several times, each time being told another excuse for late delivery. The gate and fences are quite good quality, although the catch mechanism is poorly designed and each time the gare slides shut, the catch works itself loose from the wall. Customer service is poor with no updares unless we chased to find out why we hadn’t received the gate on the delivery date(s). Delivery times quoted can’t be relied on. Overall, you have to put up with a lot of hassle but get cheaper than UK sourced gates. Order placed 13th Feb 2021 and received 14th May - so took 3 months.

    The order process is really very simple but the delivery process is quite tortuous. I placed the order on 16 Sept and have been able to see the status of my order showing as complete for around two - three weeks. I called the Birmingham office number and have left numerous messages asking for an update on a delivery date. I have not received any return calls from them. I emailed them and eventually received a reply 10 days ago saying the order was with the transport company and that they would contact me to arrange a delivery date. When this didn't happen I emailed back and yesterday (22 Nov) I received an email saying the delivery is scheduled for today (23 Nov) and that the transport company would call me to agree a time for delivery. At the time of writing this review (12:30) I have heard nothing and have not received my order. I have received an email asking me to review mistergatesdirect.com Frustrating is too soft a word to describe this situation.

    A gate arrived but had 3 dents, one which leaves a huge gash in the paintwork. There response was we will send 12ml touch up paint which I have totally refused, I did not spend thousands of pounds to receive a damaged gate on arrival to the send paint out.

    I wish I had read the reviews before buying - gate was built as they said but then 2 months to deliver what a joke. They can’t even explain or advise when u are expected to receive it other than “our supplier is behind” they could not even speak to they delivery company to prioritise your late order - speaking to the delivery driver people had been waiting longer than us ... buyer beware

    As my last review was taken off site by Mister Gates I assume I has been asked to leave another review. Well very slow service from a French Company with apparently 110% guarantee, whatever this means! Ordered May and delivered August in their 30 day delivery service using their specialist delivery service which they will charge you £180 for the pleasure. And don’t worry, if you live on a standard Uk road, it probably won’t be wide enough to get your gate to your house so expect the lorry to drop your gate at the nearest main road and cart your 100kg gate to your house. Good luck
