  I put 5 star so you can actually see this review but, McAfee is not an antivirus and will put a virus by the name of Segurazu onto your computer which purposely takes all of your PCs available RAM causing your computer to crash when opening even a simple chrome tab, it's also a very hard thing to uninstall and you have to do a lot of unnecessary work. No idea how this is legal but please don't buy this software EVER get MalWareBytes instead they are an actual antivirus

  I have had McAfee for 2 years and while I ended up buying my 2020 renewal direct through McAfee yesterday, it's this same version. The only reason I'd called them was because I had a glitch in my original version which came bundled on my computer. It had to be thoroughly uninstalled and this one newly installed which I preferred to let them do via screen share. I just wanted to chime in here because I've found McAfee to be extremely accessible, easy to work with, very well organized internally with call transfers not dropped or left to chance... just a very good customer experience. And since I didn't buy it here so you won't see Verified Purchase, I also want to add that I'm just a customer, I have zero to do with McAfee otherwise, and have not been offered any kind of incentive to write a review here nor was it ever discussed. I just want to share a praise on a 4-star total when I think it deserves higher. I spent a lot of yesterday configuring the newly installed program as I customize my firewall pretty specifically and that can be daunting if it's not a friendly design. This is. And the program communicates with you if something weird is trying to connect. I've had other antivirus/firewall programs and this has been by far the easiest, most friendly and trust-inspiring one of them AND I've found their one-on-one customer service to be excellent.Just wanted to add this bit of feedback because I think some of the low-star reviews may be user-related. A few days ago, in reading the reviews on this lower priced code buy, the featured positive one gives step by step directions how to make this code purchase work and says to follow those steps in the order given. I'd have done that had I bought it here as planned, and based on my phone experience with the company I can't imagine they wouldn't be willing to walk you through any issues you have, because the seller I'm seeing shown here is McAfee, not some 3rd party seller.Just saying.

  I have used the download with activation code for two years. I have a 6 year old windows 7 PC laptop and the download went easy. Took about an hour, maybe my slow internet. I recommend this program. Seems funny that McAfee wants $50 on the renewal, but I just use the $23 download from Amazon. I take a photo of the activation code on the purchase and follow the prompts.

  Having a prior version of McAfee Total Protection caused difficulties with the install. Contacted McAfee tech support, they were excellent in working through the problem and following up the next day to make sure everything was working as expected.
