  I quit Norton internet security suites after a decade because they went to subscription only ,with most subscriptions automatic renewal. I don't care for that sales model.I've had Kaspersky ( no -not Russian spying :-) ) when their first debut 10-12 years ago, and have gone back after Norton use . Kaspersky works really well doesn't bog you down ,better than anything I've tried.Antivirus in this age just isn't enough. Network monitoring, Crypto currency , Phishing, scam pages masquerading as legitimate pages - No one should go without secure connections and a solid defense.

  I was shocked, I did not expect it to be this good, with this many features (VPN, camera guard, etc.) while presenting such a smooth and simple interface, and no bugs. Makes glitchy Norton look like a high school coding project. I hope more people make the switch, I think Norton has been taking its customers for granted.

  The cost of a new license is about 50% cheaper through Amazon than a renewal license through Kaspersky. Buy the product on Amazon and put in a new license number in the app and be good to go for another year. I have purchased my past four years of Kaspersky Internet Security through Amazon, and the process couldn't be simpler or more cost effective.

  I work in cyber for a Fortune 200 company and do a lot of network forensics and malware related forensics. No AV will catch everything as they are all more or less using pattern matching. They do have some intelligence for catching new stuff, but that always scores low by comparison. However, Kaspersky does a great job of keeping the defs up to date with what they find in their honeypots, and what is submitted to them, and with low false positive rates. In all the professional testing sites, free to review, and ones that are not, they are always a top contender, if not on top. I always suggest that people run an anti-exploit tool, such as EMET (no longer really available/updated since Windows 10) as added protection.No AV will catch everything. So what do you do to minimize risk on Windows and Mac?1) If you did not go looking for it, do not click/install it. I do not care if it is your favorite website and it says you need to update flash... do not do it on that site! Go to Adobe and do it, or better yet get rid of Flash, oh and Java!2) If you get an email that seems urgent, do not click the link or open the attachment. Call the business that ""sent it"" and ask them. OR, use a saved link to login and check your account. IF there is an issue they will tell you there.3) Keep your machine patched. Windows, Mac, and yes, even Linux can be exploited. I am a Linux fan boy...4) Use a link rating tool (Kaspersky has one with this product) to give you some level of confidence that the link is safe. Not perfect, but better than a guess.5) Use Check Point's SandBlast Agent for Browser (still free) - it watches for phishing sites - just trust me, it works well, in case you did not listen in step 2 and its a link (Or a link in the attachment). It looks at the website you land on, not documents.6) Use a good name brand AV on Windows AND Mac (popularity has made it a target). I boot my Linux box to an AV cd every now and again, and scan it that way. No harm, and it verifies what I already know.What about iPhones/Pads and Android systems?1) Do not jail brake the phone/tablet.2) Do not install apps outside of the official repository.3) Do not install a ton of apps, especially from unknowns. Yeah, its cool to have a ton of apps that do cool things, but even popular apps have turned out to be evil. Take a wait and see attitude, and let others be the guine pig.4) Run a name brand AV. Not these weird ones from unknowns. I think Apple might have pulled AV from the store, so you might be out of luck on Apple mobile devices.5) Keep the system patched. When your cell provider stops updating that version of phone, upgrade to a newer model. This is one area Apple is better at, at least for the iPads. They support older products longer, but they just slow them down to get you to upgrade... Not sure who updates the iPhones, the cell provider or just Apple. I do not use them.The best way: Switch to Linux. Linux files that get downloaded are not executable by default. (Windows users: this means that secretly downloaded .exe file would could not just be double clicked and run, or told to run by some code - without you changing settings to the file to make it executable, and getting past the UAC). This makes it very hard to run malware on a Linux system without getting a lot of human interaction. Provided your patched...Summary:Stay safe, and follow some simple steps to minimize, not eliminate, your risk to malware/phishing, and other evils on the net. Check out Linux (Ubuntu would be your best bet as a Noob).

  As always, there is no equal to Kaspersky's Internet Security. Many people are hesitant to use it due to the unfavorable news in the press, however, I have used it for more years than I can count and it outshines all the other security products I have tried.

  I get nagged by Kaspersky for updates. Rather than wait for lowest possible price from Kaspersky, I purchased a 1-year / 3-computer license from Amazon.Was able to add this license key via the Kaspersky program on Windows. Kaspersky now shows the new license taking effect as soon as the current license expires. Works for me.

  Don't let negative reviews fool you. The process is easy. Amazon will email you instructions.I already had Kaspersky Internet Security on my computer so did not have to download anything or go through an uninstall/reinstall. I have always renewed through Best Buy's Geek Squad. Best Buy has jumped on the anti-kaspersky bandwagon and will no longer handle the renewal. I've used this software for years and have never had any problems. It also works well with Malwarebytes which is important to me.

  FANTASTIC! The activation of the Kaspersky Internet Security has worked flawlessly on my Windows 10 laptop.After completing the purchase ($29.70) I did receive ONLY the activation code in Your Account > Your Games and Software Library.Then I went to my.kaspersky.com and successfully added that activation code. Since my KIS 2020 is still valid until 11:59 pm tonight (Feb. 8) therefore the NEW license was listed as 'not in use'. (It would automatically be made ACTIVE, at 12:00 am or 12:01 am, Feb 9 (early in the morning). However, I did not want to wait until midnight. I wanted to be sure that the NEW license gets activated right away.So, following the instructions in""Current license (subscription) shows as expired, although it was renewed automatically and payment completed successfully""FAQ: Protection for Windows (my.kaspersky.com) I made it ""in use"" right away.Simply, I opened my Kaspersky Internet Security application, and invoked the 'license' pop-up window and clicked on the 'delete', i.e. x,next to the (still valid until midnight) Key. Then, another window popped up with two options 'Activate' and 'Delete'. I clicked on the 'Activate' and everything went smoothly. My new license is valid for 366 days (for 3 computers).I have been a very happy user of the Kaspersky Internet Security software/application for 5 years now.P.S. I will report on the activation of the Kaspersky Internet Security on my other laptop (Windows 10, as well) within a few days. If everything goes smoothly I should be able to activate KIS on my second device using the SAME activation code.UPDATE - Feb. 10, 2020I just successfully activated the KIS on another device (Windows 10 laptop). My old 2020 license is still valid for another 9 days.Therefore the newly activated license is 'queued' and will take effect after the old license expires, i.e. in 10 days.

  I like Kaspersky best for what it does not do. Take over and prevent boot up. Add and delete things from the startup sequence.Ever try to remove Norton or McAfee? Norton takes a special program for removal and you still have to hunt for all the roots. McAfee is just as bad, I removed both at different times over the years and it took me about a week to get rid of all the roots of each of them.I used Norton for years until it changed my startup giving me the blue screen of death. McAfee does the same thing. A software that helps out should not take over and Kaspersky doesn't.To recap Kaspersky works and does not hijack your computer.

  I have used Kaspersky for about 4 years now and used it many years ago on an old computer about 16 years ago. Their customer support is great. Unlike MacAfee and Norton you do not have to wait at least 3 days to get a response from customer/tech support these people are right there in the event of a problem. I buy my software here because the price is actually a bit better than it is on the product web site for the same thing. The software downloads easily and the activation is a piece of cake.

  I was a 20 years Norton user but after they went to subscription model I told them good buy. After a research another excellent brand was Kaspersky. I don't care. They gave excellent protection, least system resources usage and the most important - no BS subscription. As long as they stay out of that subscription model they will have my business and money.

  I am Mac user and IT professional. I do not use any Windows products at home since 2004 and for the same reason I stopped using antivirus software. I did try though free antivirus software on my iMac and MacBook Pro such as Sophos and Avast.(my spouse and kids are not computer savvy) The Sophos I uninstalled after two months of use. It did slow down my iMac to the point where you really cannot watch video or listen an Internet radio without interruptions. The Avast antivirus software last much longer before I replaced it with Kaspersky Internet Security 2020 two months ago. The installation went smooth and the KIS works fine on all of my Mac machines. I added the KIS extension to Safari and Chrome without issues. The only hiccup happened with Firefox browser but it was resolved fairly easy. I think I will continue with Kaspersky Internet Security in the future, since the price is reasonable and protective features of the KIS are very solid.

  Overall very satisfied with the product.I will say I was on a slight learning curve for awhile after they added features.I do IT for a living and need to have a handle on anything that may present a client with a hiccup.Some things to be aware of are:Invalid/Expired Server certificate errors--- Not usually a real issue at all.Essential Web site components being blocked by Kaspersky's Browser extension.-- particularly found this to be true with some financial web sites.Had to pause protection to connect!!

  I've been using Kaspersky Internet Security for years. Prior to that I had used Norton Internet Security, but I found out that it slowed my computer down tremendously. Kaspersky runs silently in the background and doesn't use a lot of computer resources. In addition to standard internet security , it comes with ""Safe Money"" which stores login information and allows you to log in to financial sites securely without using keystrokes.

  I have been using this product that I had purchased from a big box store, but they no longer offer it. I checked out new software and decided to order Avast Internet Security. I installed the Avast Internet Security software and did not like it as well as Kaspersky Internet Security, so I uninstalled Avast and purchased Kaspersky Internet Security. I like it much better.

  I have tried all Antivirus and Web protection programs out there through the years. Definitely the best in the Market. Some apprehension because is done by the Russians, but they have so much vested in this that I doubt they will do something stupid.

  We've used this for the last couple of years ( on Windows 7 & 10), & never had any issues, so plan to continue using it. Last year they added the feature to turn of the computer when done scanning, so was happy about that. Our current license doesn't expire for a couple of months, but wanted to get it now & get the code entered, so it will automatically renew for another year once the 2 months have passed. & we don't have to worry about it.

  Year in and year out Kaspersky is rated as the best antivirus product, probably because it detects and eliminates virus and malware that other, domestic products aren't ""allowed or permitted"" to detect. Good price and fast delivery from Amazon.

  Still the best one out there. I was a little concerned over the negative press but have used Kaspersky for about 5 years. During that time testing agencies have rated it as the best or close to the best internet security product and it has served me well. Can't tell you how many times it has saved me from disaster. I will take the perceived risks. If there is a backdoor, not sure agents of any country will find anything of interest on my PC. Protecting be from viruses and trojans is more important.
