Our group had a fantastic trip through Europe Active. Hotels, transfers, communication, and support was top notch! They also did a great job anticipating our needs to ensure we had a seamless experience. Their payment site is a little clunky but we figured it out. Would highly recommend Europe-Active. Aurelia was amazing!

Easy to use website We went on a self guided tour in Corsica, booked without much knowledge of Europe-Active as another company had let us down. The booking was very easy with excellent email help which was responsive and comprehensive. The GPX files were accurate. All the arrangements - hotels, luggage transfers, bike box storage and airport taxis were very slick and no problems at all. We had an excellent trip and will definitely use your company again A particular thanks to Aurelia who efficiently sorted out all our requests with no fuss Thanks Grant and Alan

I do not recommend this company

Answer by europe-active.co.ukFlagI am sorry that you do not recommend our agency. I would like to point out that you wished to cancel your holiday a few days before your departure. The general terms and conditions of sale did not suit you, so you still had the carriers move and kept the reservations in the gîtes, even though you knew you would not be coming. The reason we retain cancellation fees is to remunerate all our partners who also received your cancellation. We have apologised to them on your behalf, as politeness and clarity in our dealings with our partners and customers are of the upmost importance to us.
Answer by Vladimir KFlagI wanted to cancel my trip due to a very unfortunate family situation on the 11th of September, ten days prior to the planned date. Your representative told me that 90% of my payment was already transferred to the camp operators and transportation companies. I do not believe for a second that you cannot cancel a taxi ten days prior to the trip and still be charged the full amount. I don't like being lied to. This is the reason I cannot recommend your company to anyone.

I would give this company very high marks for being flexible and able to help. Due to a medical issue we had to cancel our first booking for last October and the company very kindly agreed to reschedule for May this year at a minimal cost for the admin of rebooking. That was exceptional and much appreciated. The app they provide for the holiday is excellent, indicating exactly where you are on each walk - assuming you have some internet connectivity. I downloaded the walk information and that continued to work very effectively throughout, and our location feature worked very well with that. It also facilitated providing a map in situations where we had chosen to drive somewhere else which was also really helpful. We didn't always follow the driving routes offered - for example on the first day when we arrived at the airport, the route suggested driving along the S125 which is a fairly windy coastal route and I'm sure pretty spectacular and beautiful, but we chose to go via the motorway as our day had started at 4.00am and we chose to avoid the more challenging drive! But this was all doable with the information on the app, so that works well. The hotels chosen were fantastic - harbourside views at Cala Gonone, and a very comfortable family run hotel in Baunei. We found the first walk to be more challenging than we expected - including some slithering down rocks - achievable but challenging! We also used a Ravine Trek company to drive us to the start of the walk to the Gorge which avoided what would have been a quite challenging drive we think! (The landrover took 25 minutes to drive down to the bottom of the valley and back up again at the end of our walk!) So all in all we were most happy with the bookings arranged for us and would recommend Europe Active for a walking holiday.

Both the trip planning as well as any modifications once it was underway were ideal. We were very happy with everything. Easy to contact them at any time.

The advice we received from EA was well informed and super helpful when designing our trip. They were flexible and efficient. The trip ran smoothly and EA helped us with slight changes of plan when the weather was against us. The app was brilliant - easy to use and we loved the live tracking so always knew where we were! We’d highly recommend EA and will be booking with them again.

The trip planned would have got an excellent score but for three issues. The booking, payments and communication was excellent. We requested the authentic GR20 route with access to luggage where and when possible. The refuges and tents were very good (bar one!!) The issues which were problematic were 1) On day 10 we had to walk 3 hours down to Cozzano (and uphill 3 hours again following day) - this village was off the GR20 !!! And the most disappointing of all the accommodation. 2) in Bavella - when we arrived at the refuge - it was booked for the wrong day Rang EA and they sorted but never checked the following day’s plan. 3) We arrived in Conca early as advised and luckily we rang the taxi, BUT again he was booked for the following day !!! He kindly (after 3 hours wait) helped by coming back BUT a long journey back to collect our luggage followed!!!! No apologies were forthcoming either which was disappointing

Excellent trip - the walks were well marked, the hotels well chosen and the service from the EA staff was prompt and attentive when we had queries about the trip. We are planning our next walk already!

A wonderful way to see Corsica--big days of riding on secret, narrow, well-paved roads. Our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. Nice lodging and lots of good food!

Except for a few small stretches, the chosen routes were fantastic - challenging and beautiful. The hotels were from good to excellent and charming. The app from europe-active was a great help: it was always possible to easily check if we were on the exact right road, to see what kind of climbs were ahead or behind us, etc. When we needed to contact europe-active they were there for us and reacted immediately. I would definitely book with them again.

In general it was good and well organized. The only comment I have is that's might be good to provide more specific information about the refugees. For example that we need to bring with us our taperware in order to get their lunch. But the general impression was very good.

As our first trek, Europe active were very organised and we had no issues with our accommodation. Our baggage was always transported reliably. It would have been nice to have met a representative of the team on the morning of Day 1 to be able to provide us with in-person information. One issue we had with the itinerary of the trek was the descent down to Cozzano (which took us off the GR20 for a day). This did not enhance our experience, and felt unnecessary, especially as the descending trail was not a particularly enjoyable trail, and considering it was towards the latter end of the trek, was psychologically and physically difficult to face, as we had to climb a 1000m the following day to rejoin the officially GR20 trail. I would recommend to Europe active to consider changing this on the itinerary of the trek.

Our 5th trip with Europe Active and great fun as ever. Would get 5 stars bar a minor hiccup with the airport pickup and no luggage tags provided which resulted in a bag delivery issue, fortunately both issues were sorted. The routes and GPS were excellent and there are few companies that offer this type of service with distances as long as this - hence we keep coming back

Hi, Overall the trip was OK, but there are a few things that europe active could do to improve the trip. The first thing was that the bikes didn't arrive until 10 am on the first morning. With a long day planned this took some of our cycling day from us. The excuse was traffic. the driver lives in Corsica, he should have expected the traffic an made allowance for it. The bikes were OK but some of the tyres were worn and the brake pads on the e-bike were badly worn. They were that bad that we had to requested replacements. The tyres were supposed to be drooped off in St Florent but never arrived. When we complained about the brake pads, they and the tyres arrived in Porto. However these again were late, the excuse again was traffic !!! I don't believe this was the case. If we had wanted to do the optional long route on that day then we would have been severely delayed. Upon arrival the representative just bought a big box of brake pads, luckily there was one set that did fit, i think this was luck rather than planning. New pads for the rear were sent to the next night's accommodation. The accommodation was generally good. the time of year we went meant that most of the restaurants at the hotels were closed, mainly this was not a problem, but the walk we were expected to do in Corte was unacceptable along an unlit road, so we ordered Pizzas in. The lady working at the hotel in Corte was extremely rude and everything seemed to be a problem. The bar ran out of beer after one can each and closed at 8pm - totally unacceptable. The last hotel looked nice and the restaurant was good. However there was a private party going on in the hotel which kept us awake until 2am on the day of our flight. There were no staff around to complain to. The taxi service in the morning was nothing more than the receptionist taking us in her own car. We had to make several attempts to get her to leave her desk to take us, this was clearly an inconvenience to her and she rallied us to the airport at speed. This is not acceptable. Corsica is a great island which we would like to visit again, however some of the issues we encountered would make us look at another company next time. The main problems being - - The time that the bikes and staff turned up - always blaming the traffic! - The lack of restaurants at the hotels - The condition of the bikes - The taxi transfer at the end
