Verified reviewI ordered some dive equipment from your site to be delivered in Indonesia and that didn't went very smoothly. The delivery date was pushed quite far from its expected delivery date due to being held at customs in Indonesia. Understandable nothing you can do something about as Mares shop but the information provided by you was very little. Me paying about 100 euros transport cost was expecting that everything was included, including customs which was another 80 euros. When contacting the customer service about it they first only referred to T&C and left me to customs and FedEx Indonesia. I know it's not all up to you and a good learning experience for me. As feedback I like to give back to you would be to be a little more generous with providing information. As a customer for international shipping you feel left in the dark. The shipping days are not accurate, the extra fees for customs is not mentioned when checking out in your online shop. I know it's in the T&C but it's only "might be subjected to extra costs", so if its the case your covered but again not accurate. And the after care with customs is not standard and left for the customer. Because its not all up to you I give you 3 out of 5 but I'd doubt to order here again because of the bad experience.

Hello Casper, we are sorry you did not have a fully satisfactory experience. Shipping time in international shipments depends on foreign countries' import procedures, which are completely out of our control and can only be managed with the local delivery partner. Actually, we write on our website about Customs and import fees on several pages of our website for extra EU delivery, before you buy: on each product page and at checkout too, where acceptance of the sentence "Customs duties and taxes may apply and remain at customer's charge" is mandatory to place the order.

Verified reviewI’m giving this very bad because these reviews get attention and get read. Mares shop should get 5 stars. Excellent service thank you. The very bad Iis for fed ex. The mares website clearly states VAT may be due and you will need to pay the courier, which I have done before. Fed ex however made no attempt to request the vat and sent me an invoice for it plus their 23% surcharge for paying it for me. I’m now in dispute with them because their additional charges actually makes Mares less competitive even though I was quite happy to settle with the courier as per website. Mares you need to get a grip on Fed ex surcharging you out of commission with other retailers.

Hello Andrew, we are very sorry for the issue with FedEx. Actually all VAT and Import taxes and fees to UK remain at customer's charge and the fees for managing import procedures are fixed by the courier. We have no control on these fees, but are opening a claim with FedEx, fees should be asked before delivery, not after. We really hope this may help solve your dispute.

Thank you. Fedex have now agreed to waive their fee but I'm still working out how to pay the VAT I owe because I have yet to receive a new invoice and the old link has expired. I'm more than happy to retract this review or amend it to the 5 stars Mareshop always deserved. Thank you for your help.
