  Have been using this antivirus for at least ten years. Stopped renewing on McAfee's site when I realized you could go buy a new version much less almost anywhere else. Good software, bad repeat client support.

  I've gotten this antivirus software for several years now. I've never had a problem. I'm still running windows 8.1 on a laptop and it installed without a hitch. And the price is great. I'll be back next year.

  After reading some of the reviews I was actually a little nervous about this purchase. My computer came with a 3 month trial of McAfee with a renew price of $60. Well, that is awful. Thankfully Amazon had a much better rate for a year of protection but there were a few reviews with horror stories relating to the installation of the software. Now again, I had already been running McAfee on my computer but I had zero issues with the installation and now, about 15minutes after purchasing it, I have another year of McAfee up and running. For what it's worth, my guess is most of the issues people had stemmed from, if they were previously using a different brand of anti-virus, they didn't manually uninstall it prior to attempting to install McAfee. If you were already running McAfee, the installation removes the old version automatically. I hope that helps. Good luck!

  I'm not sure what is going on with all the negative reviews posted on this product, claiming bogus codes and 3rd-party installers, so this is just a confirmation that all is working as intended:1. Buy the product2. Wait for a confirmation email from AMAZON that your order has processed -- that email will also include your Activation Code and the McAfee website to get your product installed (or extend the expiration date, as in my case)3. If you have ANY OTHER ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE installed (i.e. NOT McAfee), use your program-uninstaller to deactivate and remove it, then re-boot your PC, PRIOR TO STARTING the McAfee activation process. I suspect many of the negative reviews stem from people skipping this -- any legitimate anti-virus program will have built-in security to stop almost all other programs from just uninstalling it, so YOU have to do it (unless it is McAfee to begin with -- their website knows how to uninstall THEIR own software)4. Let McAfee install, period. You're done and have basic anti-virus protection.5. If you want to supplement your protection with an additional FREE program, I'd personally recommend the products from Advanced SystemCare. They have paid versions of all their products, but they also offer FREE versions of all of them as well. And these work alongside McAfee quite nicely, I've found. And no, I do not work for or benefit in any way from Advanced SystemCare for stating this -- just came across their products years ago and have used them ever since.6. After and during the installation of McAfee, it will ask you to set up Auto-renew. The 'pro' is that this gets you FREE support in the unlikely event your PC does get a Virus -- McAfee will work with you to get it removed, at no additional cost to you. The 'con' is that this sets you up for a RIDICULOUS renewal charge ($40 this year) when your subscription is 30 days away from expiration. If like me, you forget about this con and get charged, you can get a refund within 60 days, so it's not a huge deal. And you'll want free support if you DO get a virus -- happened to me about 6 years ago and was a nightmare, but professionals can diagnose and fix it pretty easily.7. NEVER take a renewal-price from McAfee directly -- they're a company, and like all companies, they want to maximize profits. So they're betting on 'hooking' you with any easy auto-renewal, charging you an outrageous fee ($40 currently), and hoping you're too lazy to want to challenge any of it. Get your refund, then shop the web, and find the exact same product (from Amazon for JUST $5, in my case), and smile :)

  When trying to install I kept getting to the store and then couldn't install any further. McAfee tech support took over and finished for me. My computer security settings had been blocking the final installation. The tech support lady was very nice.

  This product just runs in the background 24-7 and does the job on my HP 15-da0032. Superior to N@rtn in that regard which is why I switched two years ago trying it on the new PC that came with it. I will do a manual purge of cookies, etc so from that aspect not as self-managing...but also does not over warn me, slow down, or interfere with complex searches out of the norm as part of my job. I like the safe search protection/notification so is not an iron fist, rather allows or disallows. Never had a virus or major computer slowdown using this product. I like the price and flexibility of McAfee should I decide to upgrade if my needs change. For now, perfect product for my current needs on one device.

  Due to the reviews, I was very hesitate to buy this product, even though I have been using McAfee products for years without any issues. Due to the extremely reasonable price and prior trust in this subscription, I went ahead and ordered. So happy, it uploaded with no problems, just logged into my McAfee account, put in the code and the program, did the rest. What a relief, I will definitely purchase McAfee products in the years to come.

  I have used McAfee Antivirus for many years in 2 computers. Each year I renew via the download code from Amazon Digital Services and install it myself with no problems. The Amazon price is much lower than the full McAfee price and online delivery is very fast. The new installation includes auto deletion of the previous version. I like the auto update feature ( which it does very frequently) and also that it warns me about Websites that it considers risky. It also runs auto scans in the background without interrupting other work in progress. I have found that when needed a McAfee Tech Support Chat works very nicely and the Tech will spend whatever time it takes to resolve the issue.

  I've been needing to buy a good AV for quite some time. I never owned a PC worth protecting until last year but it was very easy to do with this McAfee product. For only ten dollars, you get antivirus protection for an entire year, which has to be at least 1/4 of what many other top brand-names in the business will charge you for a year's service. I was a bit skeptical at first because it was so cheap, but this really looks like it's going to fill the bill. I set up the automatic resubscription and now I'll just relax for a while. It has its own firewall too! All I need now is a VPN with such great performance and a similar low price! :)

  I had a virus on my computer that was relentless. It showed up right on turn-on I could not get it off the screen. I thought I'll have to take my computer to a technician to clean it out. I decided to try this virus protection and see what happens. Right after checking out the order and code was in my Amazon account along with the instructions for installation. I installed it, restarted the computer twice as per the instructions and viola the virus is gone and my computer is protected. I am delighted. It was a really easy and seamless process. I did not have to call anyone or talk to anyone. It was as simple as order, install, and protected.

  I've used McAfee on my computer and smartphone for awhile. It was set up for auto renewal but then I checked the price here on Amazon and the difference was a lot! They were going to charge around $100 for another year. So I went with this one for around $30. Same service, works great. I can use it on all my devices. Saved $70.

  I bought this and used as renewal. It's simple enough. I just type in the serial number, and all my computers/laptops were automatically updated the subscription date. If not, I could just simply do one click from the McAfee link and let it did the work by itself.
