Verified reviewMy son is dyslexic. He was so upset for not being able to read. Having a month trial with Fast Phonics in Reading Eggs, he is now able to read more words. He has built more confidence in reading. The interactive program makes the whole learning progress fun. He is eager to complete the learning by himself. Although he got frustrated when it comes to the reading book section, with some encouragement, he can complete the task and has built up more confidence. Thank you for such an excellent and affordable English learning app. I will definitely refer this to my friends.

Verified reviewAn amazing resource that makes learning fun. Whether using pre-school to compliment school or if you are home-educating Reading eggs really does cater for it all. They have made so many improvements since we started using it many years ago. All my children love reading eggs and now we are considering home-educating I believe it to be an invaluable resource.

Verified reviewI loved reading eggs, however the app is not compatible on my Amazon tablet, so we were using through the silk browser and my boy was really enjoying it, but it kept crashing at one particular point so we have cancelled the subscription

Verified reviewMy kids are 9 and 8 years old. We are English speakers but live in a non English speaking country. My kids have been going to school learning the local language but never learned to write or read in English until this summer. I started with a book "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons". As amazing as it is my kids were loosing motivation. I have been using Reading Eggs for my children for one month. And my children are already at a reading age level of 6 years plus. Reading Eggs is fun and exactly the motivation my kids need to not only learn to read but enjoy it. My son has issues focusing and loses interest quickly but with Reading Eggs he could stay on it for hours. My daughter loves to read and in addition to the lessons enjoys using the library. We are planning to move to the US and placing my children in an English school seemed cruel and daunting. Reading Eggs has helped us learn quickly and enjoy the process. At this rate my kids will be able to read better than kids their age by the time we get there. Thank you Reading Eggs!

Verified reviewIn one month of using Reading Eggs, my son went from being 6mo behind and not even quite knowing the whole alphabet, to being 3-4mo ahead. My son was 5 when we started using Reading Eggs. He had been in nursery since age 3, but whatever methods they were using caused him to reduce in knowledge and skill at the alphabet and reading simple 3 letter words. I tried quite a few different methods and books with him, but with close to no improvement, I asked my sister-in-law (a primary school teacher) who recommended Reading Eggs, as she knows my son and his learning style. I believe this programme/website/app is especially suited to visual and kinaesthetic learners. If you use the app on a tablet, it is definitely good for those physically active children who like to move and learn by movement, touch, etc. What I really love about the system, is that it uses a variety of ways to teach concepts, it's not just phonics being shoved down their throats like it is in school. Reading Eggs uses phonics as well as pattern recognition (sight words) and rhyme to teach as well as encourage a love of learning to read. There are a ton of extra resources which we use too, and they are GREAT. You can print them out as colour or black and white worksheets and your child will then be practising writing as well as reading. My son has gone from being discouraged and upset about not being able to learn to read, and even going backwards in abaility, to being ahead for his age and now wanting to read and learn every day. I literally have to stop him at the weekend so he can have a break! COULD NOT RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH IF YOUR CHILD IS STRUGGLING WITH READING!

Verified reviewI do like Reading Eggs but have one or two areas for improvement. I am a retired primary school headteacher and we did have RE for the children in our school. However, having used it closely with my grandchildren, I notice that the American pronunciation of zee is prevalent rather than the English Z. Also, the pronunciation of the phonics (eg n, m, l etc) add the old 'uh' at the end instead of the systematic synthetic phonic 'clipped' sound. Sorry to be so pedantic.

Verified reviewI would say it’s a wonderful program that my boy has a lot of fun with it, whatever learning, reading but also spelling, especially creating his own story. That’s why I keep this program for the second year he asked for. I couldn’t drag him away from laptop. He just loves it so much.

Verified reviewI would have given five stars, however.. I have found that the older reading eggs 7-13 years is not at my holds level, it's to mature for him, I genuinely think there should be an upper level and lower level. The lower level being Sam the Ant and all the loveable animated characters that are in the ReadingEggs junior. Then have an upper level 7-13 years for readers who don't have difficulties with their learning. Or have a SEN interactive section instead. If my son struggles with the 7-13 age group of ReadingEggs, I'd sadly have to cancel my membership.
