I purchased a tamiya carbon fibre chassis upgrade kit from 1001 hobbies. This excellent item arrived safely and well packaged, in perfect condition. The price was very good. I'm very exited to build this into my touring car. The delivery was a little bit slow (2 weeks) but I suspect this is due to brexit. Overall, very happy with service, and would recommend 1001 hobbies. Will use again.

I ordered a Boeing 747 kit on 23rd November 2021. Approaching the delivery date I looked at the Tracking record and found that it had not been sent although I had received an email from them saying it had been dispatched. They had also taken payment. I rang them and they said there had been an error and it had not been dispatched but would create a new order. this they did but the delivery date was too close to Christmas so I cancelled the order before they had a chance it dispatch it. I am still waiting for my refund. I have phoned them several times and they say they will deal with it but nothing happens. Now I try to ring them and there is a message saying they have too many calls and cut me off. This is quite the worst experience I have had dealing with a company on the internet. In my experince I find them totally incompetent and would not ever deal with them again once I get my money back.

I was sent the wrong item and therefore my son did not have his present for Christmas. The company still hasn't sent the replacement as they are waiting for the item to be returned which was nearly 2 weeks ago! The item sent in error was a fraction of the cost of my intended item. I will never use this supplier again. The website from which I ordered appears to be based in the UK, with a UK e-mail address and phone number. There was reference to the order being shipped from the EU thus perhaps causing delay. There was no mention of the fact that the company is actually based in France, and that there would be import tax and handling fees involved. I simply can't do business with a company which behaves like this. D

Selling items they clearly don’t have in stock and give you no clue as to when they might, if ever, arrive. Then blame the distributor/ manufacturer for no timeframe. When you do finally give up expect them to take a week to refund your money. Customer support are next to useless. Won’t use these people ever again. Using a .co.uk web address also gives the impression your dealing with a uk based company. You are not! A bit sly on there part I feel.

Found the site difficult to navigate, once I had located an item , I found it difficult to find again. The description of a lot of items is too breif , hence me paying the price for a kit wich I assumed would be cast alloy pieces but it turng out to be cheap plastic(?) bits . Once order placed I found out it was coming from France which took about 2 weeks but was kept informed (even received a email few days after I had got it to say it was still on its way) . When it arrived ,I thought it must be a empty box ,it was so light. I opened the very well made box to find a few plastic bags containing the parts which mostly looked very delicate . This turned out to be true as the were also very brittle and broke very easy. I proceeded using the broken parts as best I could but when a major part broke in two ,enough was enough and the whole lot went in the bin - a expensine mistake.I feel this company wants to improve its quality control and stop selling kits such as this(Fordson Tractor Big) for a rediculous high price .

But the refund process was quick and the one and only time I had to speak to the team it was dealt with quickly professionally and the lady was lovely. Overall ordering experience was great. Delivery was fast considering the current circumstances. Everything came within a rather secure and good condition box. However, my only issue would be related to the Scania R730 Streamline model that I ordered. For a newer person they may not receive what they thought they'd get as the products images does not match what you are actually purchasing. Before I ordered, I checked the models number and it referenced many of the same pictures, but of a different configuration. I would like to see accurate images for each product. That would be my only negative. Everything else about the order to delivery was brilliant. Thank you.

Original order went missing, but they did re-send the order, but too late for Christmas. Inadequate communication from the start from 1001hobbies, which left us anxious for the 5 weeks between our order and eventual delivery, but we did receive our parcel in the end, containing a model which promises to be very exciting. I still don't know the reason for the delay, as my several messages to them have gone without reply. I guess they were busier than anticipated this year.

I’m only giving 2 stars because the items were fine when they eventually arrived. Listed as 3-5 days delivery, they arrived after 13 days. They don’t answer the phone or answer emails. I paid extra to use PayPal, and extra for gift wrapping. The gift wrapping was appalling. Items arrived too late to give as an Xmas present. I won’t be using this company again.

Thanks to this car model an indulge myself purchase, one more good decisions for my bucket list. Nothing wrong with this unless left Hand Drive is an issue with a French car!! Or one body mounted mirror on the left side! Oh , and there is a black plastic mounting board with 4 chunky connections to the car. Easily removed but a black car on a black background with such substantial fixings.....it may be generic and I don't know what alternatives there might be, but overtopping the under IMHO...worth a mention? I ordered a submarine model for my son for Christmas ordering the recommend paints that were listed against the model. When my son opened the box to start to build the model on Boxing Day, we discovered that only one of the paints recommended was correct and I’d wasted £22 on needless paints! I have written to complain and heard nothing back. Won’t be using again.

The delivery is good, but slowed down somewhat as the items I've bought from them have so far both come from France, which also raises the possibility of having to pay customs duty. The company has kept me informed as to the current whereabouts of my package, which is reassuring. I haven't actually navigated the website as yet, as both times I've bought from 1001hobbies, I had something specific in mind and did a search for it. I think giving the website address is a bit misleading, as both items I've bought from 1001hobbies.co.uk have come from France, but the address suggests that the company has a British presence, which doesn't appear to be the case, based on my experience so far. Having said all that, I will buy from them again and would recommend them to anyone wishing to buy model boat kits, with the caveat that there may well be customs duty to add to the price you pay for the goods. From some of the reviews I've read, this fact of post-Brexit life in the UK comes as a surprise to some people.

Amazing that a company that seeks so much feedback is so poor. Goods shown as in stock weren't, emails to customer service were ignored. Over a month from ordering to receiving my goods.
