  Products arrived damaged due to poor packaging, however I contacted Megan from customer service and she was brilliant, she arranged for replacement products to be sent and passed on my feedback to the relevant department to make sure it doesn’t happen again. The replacement products arrived much better packaged and undamaged. This was my first time ordering from this company, although the products initially arrived damaged, due to the fantastic customer experience from Megan and how quickly the problem was rectified, I shall definitely be ordering again from Cowling & Wilcox! The products themselves are quality materials, reasonable prices and arrived quickly. Thank you again :)

  The delivery was very disappointing. I ended up receiving it 6 days later than was originally promised. When it came one of tubs of paint had splurged out and covered the pot. Fortunately it was wrapped it bubble wrap so mess was contained but was annoying to clear up and a real waste of paint.

So, it seems our Carrier let us both down on this occasion. I'm so sorry about this. I'm wondering if the Bank Holiday could have caused short term issues as we rarely have issues like this.   This was an interesting experience. I ordered 6 large table easels for an exhibition Im going to be taking part in. 4 of them arrived. On the day of the delivery I also received an order for some sun cream from Superdrug. I sent a message to Cowling and Wlicox expressing my displeasure at only receiving part of my order as I was in a rush to get the easels to get organised for the exhibition. I received in the reply that ide received 2 parcels that day and that surely the other parcel was teh extra 2 easels! The easel boxes are approx 2 feet long, whilst the superdrug box was less than half of that in length. It was at this point that I was tempted to ask the customer services woman if she'd played with the toy to fit the right shapes in the right holes as a toddler!! Fortunately I still had the superdrug box and it had superdrug printed on the outside so I sent scans proof that Ide paid for 6 easels. The 4 easels that had arrived. The superdrug parcel. The email of the parcel carrier saying theyd delivered the parcel from superdrug. With the photograph of the two parcels of different sizes and random holiday snaps in case they thought them relevant etc etc. At first the customer services said they would have to check their stock to see if they were two easels up!! And also explained they hadnt been able to see the label on the photograph provided by the courier, of the two parcels being delivered!! The fact that the superdrug parcel was completely the wrong shape seemed to have past her by!! To be fair, in the end they said they would send the missing two easels, which they did and I now have all six of my easels. Which is why Ive given them 3 stars. The fact that it was obvious that the two parcels contained completely different things and they still tried it on to say that theyd delivered all of the order to start with I think was taking the **** tbh. I was going to contact them to suggest they start training staff by getting them to fit the appropriate shape in the appropriate holes so as this "mistake" wouldnt happen again. So yep if you do order from them, keep photies and records of everything so you can prove your case if there are any mix ups!!

  It was the first time using this art website and I was attracted by the free postage with an order over £50.00. I made a mistake ordering the wrong product but would like to comment that it would be beneficial to see on the outside front cover that the product is 100% cotton, which is what I wanted. However the hot pressed paper I chose was not clearly marked and I assumed it was a cotton product.

  Very easy site to navigate and to order. Great communication. Dispatch was very quick and items arrived when expected. Unfortunately the end of one of the brushes had broken off during transit but as it was long handled I was able to cut it off, it has not affected the use of the paintbrush, very minor so didn't feel the need to complain. I have used this company a few times and I am always satisfied. The products are of high quality. I would not go anywhere else for my art products. I would highly recommend cowling and wilcox

The order was dispatched on the 30th July and then delivered by RM on the 2nd August (a Saturday). According to our records, there were no delays at all.   I have ordered supplies from too many companies to count and the vast majority dispatch same day if ordered before 2pm (or around then) and if not it’s next day. Two days to dispatch a product is slow compared with your competition (at least from my experience). It’s not a huge criticism but it would be enough for me to shop at another company. I did contact you by telephone and it was on the 30th when the product was dispatched as I was starting to wonder if the order had been received as I did not receive a confirmation email either.

  Ah, I see. Thanks for letting me know. We do often send out next day, if not same day but Monday (the day you ordered) is often our busiest day due to the buildup of orders over the weekend. I also notice you ordered after 2pm on a Monday so this would have made it even harder for us to send out so quickly. If you'd have ordered a little later in the week I'm sure there would have been no issue. I can fully understand that if you're used to receiving goods quickly it would have been frustrating. We'll continue to work on our shipping and thank you for your valuable feedback.

  you have to know what you want to buy, speculatively selected products might be a problem if you need to return. i.e. known brands no issue, but taster purchases might be. I tried the return process its pretty much non communative - be prepared to write the product cost off.

I've looked into your order for you and I've found out you did a return request and asked us to cover postage for damaged goods but there were no images attached to show anything was damaged. We then emailed you to ask for photos to show damage/fault but we've received no response. We also offered to send replacements instead of return labels if you'd still like the goods but again no reply. I think we've been fully fair and have fully followed (if not going further) our T&Cs. You're very welcome to return goods but they would be at your expense if there is no damage. Also, if convenient, you can view all of our goods in our 4 shops.   I dont wish to get into a fighting match, I did reply with photos on the day i got the photo request. I've had no contact from you since that photo request. As far as I'm concerned I've written off the purchase it wasn't a lot of money. The warping has flattened out to a greater extent - It just was a disapointing purchase. The paint element was very good.

  I’ve been a customer now on many occasions. Their site is really easy to navigate in what you want, and their prices are the better compared to others I’ve looked at. Their delivery charges are on the excessive side, especially if you only need a couple of paints or brushes. I think a more varied postage would be advantageous, for me, anyway, rather than having a standard charge. But for Artist materials they’re the number one, for prices, quality and quantity. If you’re an artist like me, I would highly recommend you shop here. You save money, and I’m never disappointed. Just try to buy a few things at a time, as the postage can be expensive. I love shopping here. Highly recommended! So check them out. Oh! They’re always having some discounted offers too. I rate them a 5 star without any hesitation.

  I am very pleased with the special elevated art board. It appears to be of very good quality, sturdy & well made. I have particularly bought it to use at one of the Art Cubs I belong to, as it will save carrying a bulky easel to elevate my usual art board. I cannot as yet comment on the tracing paper as I haven't yet tried it yet. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase, & will buy from this firm again.
