    Very happy with these smart well made acid free archive boxes. They came very quickly and minimal packaging. I don’t have room for a plan chest for my drawings so have sorted and stored them tidily in these. A nice looking stack on bricks. A label slot on the outside would be lovely, but I’m using sticky labels for now

    I have only given a 3 star, which, doesn’t replicate the materials of my order or the price, which, after searching other art suppliers they’re still the cheapest In that respect. But my main concern is with the delivery, which, had taken a week to arrive. I always find that as soon as I go over the £50 for free delivery it seems to take longer. As in this occasion my order was over for free postage. I tend to feel that they don’t seem to value your custom when you spend more. If I had wanted it sooner, I would have had to have paid an additional charge for postage, which, should never be. So if you want it quick, forget it. I called customer service and received a bad attitude response, and clearly wanted to argue with you. I think this is a shocking way to treat a customer. They didn’t seem to care, and I had asked why it had taken 3 days before dispatch. My feeling is that why it is held back and not sent out sooner. When I get order below £50, and thereby paying postage you’re likely to get it be 3/4 days. So not good customer service and delivery is whenever they feel like it, If only it could be as good as their prices it would be a good business to deal with, but unfortunately it’s not. It’s a case of if you’re buying, don’t go over £50 if you are in need of your art materials quicker, and don’t pay the additional postage charge, it’s daylight robbery. Stick to under £50, as it’s reasonable service. So it’s your own choice, but prices are the best around.

    Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm so sorry you've had this experience and something unacceptable has definitely happened to your larger orders. However, I can assure you that none of our systems prioritise smaller orders so this really shouldn't have happened. The only thing I can come up with is that due to the variety of products you ordered it's possible our stock levels were wrong on an item and so we may have had to bring that product in from one of our shops. This, however, is very rare so I'm more inclined to think it was just a case of unfortunate timing. We normally dispatch orders within 1-2 days but we have had a period of short staffing due to paternity leave and unexpected sickness. We've now returned to normality so I'd like to think this won't happen again. If you're confortable to order with us again please contact Megan at admin@cowlings.com and mention my name (as well as htis message) and we'll make sure there are no issues with your order.     This is my second time buying art supply from Cowling and Wilcox. It was very easy and smooth. They packed everything securely, they delivered it within the time frame they stated. I did not have to be worried at all. I also bought the ink in the glass bottles, it were arrived in a perfect condition.     While delivery was good and items well packaged, I found it difficult to to find the canvases I wanted as they kept showing’out of stock’. I had to compromise which was not ideal. Also my free delivery for over 100 pounds disappeared on checkout when I put in my voucher code. Not a great incentive to return. This time I was buying on a gift voucher.

Recently, we were a bit low on our own brand canvases as we have to buy them in large quantiites from overseas but we've now received a new container of stock so everything is now back in stock. I'm so sorry about the annoying bug we have with our vouchers. It's an issue we're actively fixing but it needs our developers to program this so will take a little while longer.     The products purchased were brilliant. The packaging of the item was like getting something off of EBay. A little better packaging especially with brushes. The package was simply cardboard wrapped around. It did arrive damaged, but the brushes were okay.

    So far my experience has been very bad. My order was over £200 and I ordered over two weeks ago and I still have not received it. This is largely down to Ervi being a terrible delivery service. It is known that Ervi are a bad delivery company and I would suggest Cowling and Wilcox leave them before more potential issues arise. I have asked Cowling and Wilcox to support me with Ervi (as getting hold of Ervi is impossible) and to be honest communication with Cowling and Wilcox over this issue has not been very attentive. Which personally doesn’t feel great considering how much I spent. I have called Cowling and Wilcox numerous times and emailed and only received one email back, I have asked for a refund now but I still haven’t heard anything from them. Ultimately, I see that this is largely Ervi’s fault yet it does not make me want to order from Cowling and Wilcox again due to the partners they work with and their inability to be attentive with this issue. Therefore, perhaps they should consider customer experience and the partners they work with.
