  I recently started using Cowling & Wilcox and have been super-impressed with the service. The selection and pricing is fantastic, they dispatch very quickly (even during the Black Friday rush), everything is well packaged too. I needed to email to query something in one of my deliveries and they answered my enquiry within the hour with the full information I needed. In this day and age that's unbelievable. Really, really impressed and will use them as my first choice for art supplies from now on. Thank you.

I've looked into your order and can see it was sent out within 48 hours of receiving your order but Royal Mail took longer than expected to deliver your goods. I can only apologise for this and assume it is due to the extra pressure they're under at this time of year. In terms of the emails. I'm sorry about this and can assure you this is not normal. It's a symptom of this time of year where we (and our competitors) are reminding as many people as possible about our great offers (ongoing and specific to Black Friday).   I first bought from this company earlier this year & was most impressed, both with their prices & the speed of delivery. They also have a wide selection of Art & Craft Materials. So impressed was I, that I have reordered different things around 4 times since then. I think my latest orders was a set of random brushes. Yes these were mainly flat brushes, but there were one or two round. All useful & reasonable quality. I have shopped for myself as an Artist & for presents for my granddaughter. The table top easels are amazing for doing Craft Fayres & Art displays. So quick to put up & heaps better than others I’ve purchased that aren’t so stable. I highly recommend.Many thanks 😊

  I’m quite sure that Cowling and Cox is a hardworking company full of excellent staff. I had one small issue with my only order to date ….. I’d ordered two small packets of scalpel blades not realising that I had to give ID before the blades were despatched. After an amount of time had passed I rang and spoke to someone who in no uncertain terms told me that an email had been sent to ask me for my ID. I’d clearly missed the email in question and once I complied, the blades and the one other item I’d ordered were posted. My comment on this review is that whoever I spoke to was impatient with me because it was clearly my fault at not having responded to the ID request! We are all inundated with hundreds of emails that we’re not interested and I, probably like everyone else, scan through them a couple of times a day and remove them as quickly as possible. Yours must have been amongst one such removal exercise. My fault clearly but needless to say I was brought up short by whoever I was speaking to!!!

Cowling and Wilcox responded by supplying better packaging for the second order which turned my opinion of the company around. Unfortunately, for the third order it was back to their old ways, with the package simply wrapped in paper, affording no protection against the rough and tumble of postage. Not ideal for art materials. Shame.

  Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm so sorry you've had two bad experiences with us where we've let you down with our poor packaging. You're, of course, totally right. We do try and keep our standards very high but sometimes it's difficult to keep an eye on every package going out to make sure our team hasn't cut corners.
