  Products may be fine but delivery is slow - even when paying extra for next day delivery. Order was made on Thursday on next day delivery but wasn't even despatched till the next day (Friday) and then DHL did not deliver till the following Tuesday

I've looked into your order and can see you ordered an hour after our Next Day Delivery cutoff of 2pm so your goods were despatched the following day (Friday) on a Next Day delivery. Your goods should have definitely arrived on the Monday so I can only apologise that our courier let us both down and delivered late. I'd be happy to ask one of our customer service team to get in touch to refund you the extra you paid for our Next day service.   Order placed with Cowling & Wilcox which included a single white pastel stick alongside pastel paper and black pads. Goods arrived with the pastel crumbled and covering both paper pads. The pastel had no packing around it! I contacted Cowling & Willcox and a replacement order was sent. However, on its arrival it was in the same state as the first order, with a crumbled pastel and white chalk over both paper pads. Contacted Cowling & Wilcox again this time suggesting a refund. No acknowledgement of my e-mail and photo has been received.

  A recent customer but already I realise that this company will go the extra mile for you, from a simple query to showing concern if an order is late arriving due to Postal Workers strikes, variety is great and prices are the best you'll find anywhere and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to this company for value and service.

  I had some issues with this company when I originally ordered, as they did not rerspond to my emails when the order was not processed as promised. However, after Chris Oscar-Moore wrote to me to explain I thereafter was very pleased with the effort Chris made to set everything straight. Their prices, and shipping costs, are very reasonable, and hopefully with folks like Chris to take care of customer service that you will be pleased with this business as well.

  I was taken to a screen that said delivery was £3.49, I think. Then another screen said delivery would be determined after checkout and I would be emailed the amount or something similar. No where was I told delivery was free so was quite surprised.

I've just had an update from the developers: We had a little bug in our new site where 'Alabama' was included for Paypal customers as their State/County. This obviously caused some confusion. Fortunately, this was solved quite quickly and I'm assuming this is what affected your transaction. So I'm hoping you shouldn't have any more issues with Paypal.   My purchase (about £60) was stated to have free postage up to and beyond the payment. However, I was contacted later to say that the carrier was demanding a payment equal to nearly half the total purchase. I cancelled my order and asked for a refund. Cowling and Wilcox were very good at refunding my money but I was disappointed that they hadn't made it clear about what turned out to be NOT free postage. Surely this should be made clear in future before payment is taken.

  Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with us. I notice you live in the Scottish Islands and you ordered a decent amount of boards which would be heavy and large. Unfortunately, in this situation we have to use a Courier as we can't use Royal Mail. They surcharge us for any delivery to your postcode. So we, regrettably, have to pass these charges on. We hate doing this but I'm sure you understand and know we have to do this due to the extra expense to ourselves. This is all explained in detail in our Delivery Information page and should have been mentioned on the site when you bought the goods and put in your postcode. Once again, I'm sorry you didn't have a perfect experience with us but yours was a fairly unusual situation. Kind regards, Guy.

  The website was easy to navigate, I wanted a particular type of gummed tape for picture framing, it was easy to find. The delivery was prompt and as described. The item was well packaged. A good supplier. Recommend.

  I get email alerts of offers and it is easy to negotiate the website to order necessary items seen there, but on a search engine rather than piggy backing on an email.   Thank you for taking the time to review us. I see that you ordered late on 16/08. It would have taken us a little time to pick your goods as, you're right, our system said the product was in stock but we couldn't find it. Unfortunately, on very rare occasions this happens and so we spent a little time investigating this to see if we could find the product. This took longer than expected and I can only apologise for this. We got back in touch on 22/08 just after the weekend break when you cancelled and requested a refund. All I can say is that it was an unacceptable and highly unusual situation from us from start to finish. We pride ourselves on our customer service as you can see from our many positive reviews so, once again, I'm so sorry for your poor experience.   Excellent service. Arrived promptly. Perhaps items could have been wrapped a bit more securely (tubes of paint with large sheets of paper) outer box was a bit loose. A pity some items were out of stock (but saw that before ordering). However a good choice. Seems good value. Seemingly better than another similar company. Thank you.

  I had to call customer service for my item to be shipped after 10 days of waiting. Once I called my item was shipped that day. I don’t feel like I should need to remind a company to follow through promptly.
