  This was the second time a sketch book arrived with damaged corners because of unsatisfactory packaging. This time it was particularly galling because I had specifically put a note in the order to tell them about their problem. It was ignored and was delivered damaged effectively shop soiled. I told their customer service who are also pretty poor about this and they told me I had to provide evidence to prove it, with photographs. This was despite me having previously told them about the problems with my books and also suffering the damage without financial recompense. Plus I have been a past loyal and good customer to Cowling & Wilcox. Absolutely hopeless and I will now be using other suppliers because they obviously put a few pennies before customer satisfaction.

  Thanks for taking the time to review us. I'm so sorry your sketchbook arrived damaged and, of course, we will refund it for you. However, I'm sure you understand we do need evidence of the damage to refund you and also to be able to pass onto our packing teams to improve things here. We do put a lot of effort into making sure parcels are packed as well as possible and we get very few complaints. However, our Carriers are under extreme pressure and their standards may have slipped in the odd case. However much packaging we use would not stop some of the damage we see. Once again, I'm so sorry you've had two bad experiences with us. I've asked our customer service team to get in touch with your directly to sort things out with you.   My order was either lost or severely delayed in the Christmas post. I contacted customer help and was given great service, either a full refund or a replacement order that would be dispatched by 24 hour courier. I opted for a replacement order and received my parcel the next day, just in time to gift it for Christmas. They couldn't have done any more to resolve my problem. Totally satisfied and would definitely recommend.

  Ordered a batch of crepe paper before 2pm for Next working day delivery. The order was despatched by the company the same day but was then with the courier (DHL) for days on end eventually arriving 6 days later. I sent an email to the company and they refunded me the postage (thank you) however I still feel the 2 star review is fair as the "contract" I had was with the company and not the courier. The company did state that their may be a slight delay owing to the pressure the courier was under (Covid-19 & Christmas) however I do not consider 6 days as being a slight delay for Next working day delivery. The products themselves are however of high quality and the website was easy to navigate.

  It wasn't so bad and I will come back, but despite every art supply store I've ever dealt with, and indeed your own bricks and mortar store, selling stretcher bars in pairs, your online shop sells them as singles with no place on the order mentioning this. Just a small thing but it meant I had to order twice pay shipping twice, and wait twice.

  Their customer service is fantastic. I ordered a canvas and paid for next day delivery, when the courier did not deliver on that day I was contacted by Cowling and Wilcox and given a refund for my extra shipping fees.
