  I have been a Skimium customer for many years – each time booking online beforehand. Usually, it works fine. For example, earlier this season I rented skis in Cortina and they had been properly checked and prepared before I collected them. However, most recently in Ardents, Montriond – on day one, it was clear this had not happened. I discovered there was a small gouge on the base which needed to be fixed and the edges were in poor condition. They were high spec skis – but were horrible to use. At the end of the first day, when I brought this to the attention of the staff the edges were sharpened overnight. It did mean that skiing on the first day was compromised. Most, not all, of the staff were friendly and helpful.

  I found Skimium really easy to book with, everything was clear on the website, and it was also so reasonably priced. They were also the only company I could find which had a clear cancellation policy, which really helped put my mind at ease, as even though everything is more or less back to normal, it’s definitely reassuring to have that option if you do need to cancel due to Covid.

  Great service as usual, friendly and helpful staff, kit was good, although the boots didn't fit very well, so ended up buying a brand new pair of boots after just 2 hours of skiing. Took the hire boots back and kept going with the skis. No problem.

  Booked our ski trip last minute, really easy to organise ski hire. Decathlon were great. Boots hurt after second day and switched without hassle. Very good value and had a great first time skiing

  I had to return my skis twice due to poor quality at the Ardent site. The first skis the breaks were really loose and wonky making it impossible to carry the skis, the second skis unclipped multiple times which was very dangerous. One of the staff members was extremely rude, I asked can they guarantee if the skis would be of sufficient quality the third time round and he shortly replied if they are not you will just have to come back. No apology. This falls far below the standard expected for customer service. Most of their inventory appears worn out, chipped and in dire need of updating.

  We had pre booked our skis and snowboards. When we arrived at the hire shop, which was quiet at the time, they had hardly any equipment left and we feel that the top equipment we had pre paid which was the experience piste pack for was not the quality of equipment we should have received. It clearly states on our booking/voucher that our equipment will be waiting for us, this defiantly wasn't the case. They tried to give myself some off piste wide skis as that is all they had in the shop!! As I refused them they had to call someone to bring skis from somewhere else. One positive was the staff were very polite.

  Fairly satisfied. Partly my fault, however service when present at skimium was relatively poor. I had booked for an intermediate snowboard, however when booking I had booked my physical height as 155cm rather than my board as 155cm. When I showed up they had seen that I was far bigger than 155cm and they had to quickly sort a board out for me. However this board was definitely not an intermediate board and the bindings were genuinely un-useable. I came in after one day to swap them out, only to get another beginners board and another set of terrible bindings. I decided to just suck it up and I got used to them, however I do wish I could’ve gotten an intermediate or advanced board with some much more reliable bindings.

  The Pre booking process asks that you enter your fitting/size details. However , on the day it seemed that the guys simply didn’t check the requirements and asked us for our sizing. I was hoping everything would be ready and it would be a case of final Checks - in and out. Other than that it was great experience with drop off being excellent. No issues recommending this store.

  The reservation system is easy to use, in English, with all information required for the booking. It is enough to go to your shop, tell your name and number and everything is ready! Which is amazing especially with little kids! Equipment was really nice, staff friendly and nothing was a problem, everything has a solution that the customer is satisfied!

  Experience was great. Received everything quickly and with no hassle. Staff were friendly and helpful. My ski boots were a little too tight first day, took 30 seconds to get them changed at the end of the first day. The shop is also a good price and well located right next to the bus stop to Meribel. Will be using this service again.

  Booking experience was fine on-line, but I had to cancell the rental while in resort due to injury after 1 days usage (equipment was returned on day 1 of hire). The shop was unable to refund my cancellation as it was an on-line booking, I had to get a medical certificate for evidence of injury and a certificate from the shop that hire equipment was returned. Now I'm claiming refund on-line which is proving difficult due to language barriers and not not understanding that I only had 1 days use of the ski's as the shop certificate shows pick-up of ski's day before hire period, so instead of 5 days to be refunded, they are assessing it as 4 days to be refunded!

  Highly recommend this guy's for everyone. Have booked 3 ski sets for 4 days and they let us take one day brake on request whit no extra charge as we been in resort for five days but skiing only four days. The staff is extremely helpfull, every time we start or finish skiing someone always been helping us to take off or put on boots, also on the end off the every day we left ski boots in the shop and next morning they are dry and warm. My daughter had problems with ski boots after two days skiing and this guys replaced ski boots without any problems. So, I can say that this shop is the best in the resort!!!!! Highly Recommend!!!!!!!!!

  I went in a group of 14 people, and the staff was very receptive and friendly; we collected the equipment quickly. During the rental period, we had to change equipment on three occasions which happened with no hassle.

  Great choice of equipment and absolutely fantastic service. We changed skis most days and on one day I had a pair I couldn’t control, Phil came to the slope within 10 minutes to change them for me. I can not fault the entire experience. Brilliant.
